Notable Cases

Trilogy Management Limited v YT Charitable Foundation (International) Limited and others: representing the trustees of a substantial charitable trust in relation to a major trust dispute where the Representer sought distribution of the entire trust fund to the beneficiaries or the removal of the trustees.

Walker and others v Egerton-Vernon, Walker Representatives Limited, Chown and Hawksford Trust Company Limited: representing one of the principal Defendants in connection with claims for breach of trust, breach of duty and gross negligence. In this case the Royal Court considered for the first time the issue of limitation and the suspension of running of any limitation period in the context of a claim for breach of trust by a trustee against a former trustee.

Representation of A Limited: representing a Jersey foundation where the Royal Court was required to construe for the first time the provisions of the Foundations (Jersey) Law 2009 and the extent of its supervisory jurisdiction.

Republic of Brazil and other v Durant and other: representing the Defendants in connection with claims for constructive trust, unjust enrichment and knowing receipt.

Re Lincoln Trust Company (Jersey) Limited: representing a Jersey trustee in connection with an application for directions in the context of English matrimonial proceedings involving two of the trust’s beneficiaries.
